_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Rain will make for a wet morning commute around New York
City tomorrow, with rain potentially heavy enough to cause
ponding on streets and highways. Farther south, showers and
thunderstorms will continue to soak much of the Southeast.
Afternoon thunderstorms can bring flash flooding, large hail
and damaging wind gusts from eastern Wyoming to the Texas
Panhandle. The same hazards can exist in a similar area into
the evening hours. Dry and breezy conditions can lead to an
elevated fire risk in eastern Arizona and New Mexico.
Central and South Texas will continue to endure intense
heat, but somewhat lower temperatures than recent days are
expected in northern Texas. Unseasonably cool air will be in
place across southern New York, southern New England,
