The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, October 18, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A storm system over the Midwest will pull cold air southward
into much of the United States tomorrow, bringing the
chilliest air of the season and chances for some
accumulating snow. Snow will be most common in the Upper
Peninsula of Michigan, where continuing enhancement from
Lake Superior can bring storm totals in excess of a foot for
some spots. Elsewhere downwind of the Great Lakes, a mix of
rain and snow are expected, with minor or no accumulations.
Farther south, cold overnight temperatures are likely to put
an end to the growing season, with subfreezing lows reaching
as far south as Louisiana and central Mississippi.
Meanwhile, abnormally warm conditions will continue in the
Northwest, with poor air quality due to wildfire smoke.
