Volunteer at McLeod

Volunteers from St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and Ascension Lutheran Church are working to boost reading skills of students at McLeod Elementary. Through ARISE2Read, church members are focusing on strengthening second-graders’ reading so they are more likely to enter the third grade reading on grade level. Tutoring on sight reading and comprehension is helping students progress. Volunteers include (from left) Jack Conway, Kenneth Bennett, Patty Clark, Faye Hollingsworth of St. Philip’s; and Joanne Olson, Ascension Lutheran Church.
