Mr. and Mrs. John Terrell Brown Jr. announce the marriage of their daughter Kathleen McCraney Brown to Nicklaus Hunter Russell, son of  Sherry Ogden Russell and Jeffrey Allen Russell. The ceremony took place at 6 p.m. on December 28, at The Lewis Memorial Chapel of the Good Shepherd and was officiated by Father Skully Knight and the Reverend Chris Andrews.

The bride is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ward Thomas McCraney Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. John Terrell Brown.

The bridegroom is the grandson of Tressie Alexander Ogden and the late Curtis Ogden and Norwood Aaron Russell and the late Faye Core Russell.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a custom strapless designer ball gown. Her gown featured a sweetheart neckline with a drop-waist and was comprised of French Alcenon lace. The sculptured full circular skirt flared into a chapel length train with peal buttons down the back. Accompanying her gown, the bride wore a bolero for the ceremony that was handmade for her with the same lace as her gown, featuring long sleeves with pearl button accents. Her veil was made of heirloom Brussels lace and was worn by her aunt Collette Brown Bruce and older sister Jane Lloyd Brown Dossett.

The bride was attended by her matron of honor, Jane Lloyd Brown Dossett and her maid of honor, Anne Joyner Brown. Bridesmaids were Mary Charlotte Collette Bruce, Helen Wallace Cowart, Taylor Katherine LeBlanc, Anna Claire Maxwell, Rebecca Blackmon Parker, Taylor Elizabeth Patterson, Kimberly Gibson Rolfe, Amelia Claire Rosso, and Phoebe Claire Smith.

The bridegroom’s brother, Samuel Alexander Russell, was best man. Groomsmen were Thomas James Brown, John Terrell Brown III, brother of the bride, Vincent Dellocono, David Laurence Goodyear Dossett, brother-in-law of the bride, Russell Terry Eleazer, Gaines Bearden Hanks, Kent Adam Knaus, William Aaron Newton, and Rankin Scott Teeter.

Ushers were Jack Denton Graham IV, Julian Alberto Darden, and Thomas Ryne Clausen.

Scripture readings were presented by Mae Amanda Murrell and Austen Siebert Turner.

Program attendants were Sarah Madaline Day and Allison Claire Poche.

Following the ceremony the parents of the bride hosted a reception at the Baton Rouge Country Club. The couple left the reception in a 1960s Volkswagen belonging to and chauffeured by the bride’s grandfather, Dr. McCraney.

A brunch honoring the bridesmaids was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Rosso and co-hosted by the bridesmaids’ mothers. On the day of the wedding, a brunch for out-of-town guests was held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Chris McCanless and co-hosted by numerous family friends.

After enjoying a wedding trip to Mexico, the couple will reside in Baton Rouge.
