Miss Blanchard and Douglass planning December 27 wedding at The Chapel at Livingston

Dr. and Mrs. Earl Joseph Blanchard Jr. of Madison announce the engagement of their daughter, Meredith Anne Blanchard, to Nelson Parks Douglass, son of Ashlee Browman Lucas and Nelson Lee Douglass III, both of Madison.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Joyce Anne Mullins of Poplarville, the late Frances Guidry Blanchard of Gautier and the late Earl Joseph Blanchard of Mobile.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. David Joseph Browman of Brandon and Mr. and Mrs. Julius Earnest Burghard, Dr. and Mrs. Charles Dechard Guess, and the late Nelson Lee Douglass Jr., all of Madison.

Miss Blanchard was graduated from St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in 2013. She attended the University of Alabama for three years and was graduated from Millsaps College in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. At Alabama, she was a member of Chi Omega fraternity serving both as new member educator and as director of programming. She also served as president of the UA Pre-Dental Society.

Miss Blanchard was presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi in 2014. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry.

Douglass was graduated from St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in 2013 and Millsaps College in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. At Millsaps he served as the captain of the lacrosse team and as a student body senator. He is an owner of Between the Pines Disc Supply in Jackson. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine.

The couple will exchange vows December 27 at The Chapel at Livingston, with a reception to follow at Bridlewood of Madison.
