Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lanford of Ridgeland announce the engagement of their daughter, Caroline Virginia Lanford, to Cameron Alasdair Meek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Meek of Newport, Ky.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Gerlda Brown of Vina, Ala. and the late Clarence Brown Jr. She is also the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ferguson of Vicksburg, and the late Bowie Lanford Jr.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Avonne Schwartz of Catonsville, My. and the late Mr. Schwartz and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Meek of Trune, Scotland.
Miss Lanford was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Ridgeland High School. She was graduated summa cum laude from Tulane University with a bachelor’s degree in international studies, and was a member of Phi Mu fraternity.
She received her master’s degree in spring 2020 from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service in Washington, D.C. Miss Lanford is a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State.
Meek is a graduate of Edgewood High School in Trenton, Ohio. He was graduated from Hendrix College with a bachelor’s degree in international relations. He is a communications specialist with the Conference of State Bank Supervisors in Washington, D.C.
The couple will exchange vows November 14 at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans with a reception to follow at Brennan’s. They will make their home in Washington, D.C. pending overseas assignment by the state department.
