Hinds County District Two Supervisor David Archie’s 2019 election is being challenged in the Mississippi Supreme Court.
Archie won the 2019 Democratic Primary by 125 votes against incumbent Darrel McQuirter.
McQuirter, who served two terms, claims that Archie established a residence at 3426 Shady Oaks St., to run for office. He claims that Archie instead lives on Clubview Drive, outside of the district.
The two had run against each other three times in the last 10 years. Each time, Archie listed Shady Oaks as his address, according to court documents. Archie won the 2019 contest by 125 votes.
The trial court ruled in favor of Archie.
