Here’s hoping this trend continues.
The Mississippi Department of Health reported 653 new cases of COVID-19, which were tests that were confirmed positive as of 6 p.m. July 26.
An additional six deaths were reported.
The news comes after a week where more than 1,000 cases each day had been reported.
In all, 52,286 people have been infected by the virus, as well as 671 who are expected to have died from it.
Health department figures show 1,464 people have died of the virus, while another 37 deaths were “probable” COVID deaths.
In Hinds County, 4624 people have been confirmed infected; 82 have died. Madison County has had 2,096 confirmed cases and 50 deaths.
