Northsiders will have a chance to sound off on city issues Thursday night, at Broadmeadow United Methodist Church. Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba is hosting the "community conversation" event, to talk about infrastructure, recent changes in the police department and other issues.
Among recent shakeups in the Jackson Police Department, former District Cmdr. James McGowan was made a sergeant and moved to the Juvenile Division. Part of the reason for the change, interim Police Chief Anthony Moore did away with the two "district commander" positions, which were created under previous Chief Lee Vance.
Thursday's meeting is the third of three meetings planned. Broadmeadow is located at 4419 Broadmeadow Dr., Jackson, For more information, call the mayor's office at (601) 960-1084.
