JPS does not require employees to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Requests for media interviews are vetted through the Public Engagement office. This allows us to assist in ensuring the most accurate information is shared and the appropriate individuals are made available to comment on specific subjects.
Jackson Public Schools values its collaborative working relationships with the media. To ensure a smooth experience at our schools and a minimal disruption of the educational environment for students, we require media to obtain approval before visiting our facilities or interviewing our personnel. The Public Engagement team helps facilitate interviews, secure locations and proactively works with all media outlets.
Additionally, we follow the appropriate procedures and guidance outlined by the Mississippi State Health Department as it relates to the reporting of COVID 19 cases for school districts.
