We have never seen anything quite like this.
But we have seen difficult, challenging times before. Through it all, the people of Mississippi stand with each other, even if we need to stay a little farther apart these days. As financial professionals, our commitment at Regions Bank remains the same – to help individuals, businesses and communities move forward.
In recent weeks, our teams have been in touch with customers, learning about the unique challenges they face due to the coronavirus and then identifying ways we can be of service. We’ve announced a series of options for people struggling financially because of the pandemic. From loan payment deferrals, to waiving late fees for credit cards, to consumer mortgage payment forbearance, and more, there are services in the short term that can help. And in the long term, we’ll stay true to our mission to serve and support.
Regions also maintains a customer assistance program designed to address specific needs and determine additional areas where the bank may help. Customers can call 1-866-298-1113 to discuss options related to Regions credit cards, personal loans, home equity loans and business loans. The Regions Mortgage Payment Assistance team can be reached at 1-800-748-9498.
Details on these options can be found at www.regions.com, and the phone numbers of our local branches are posted there as well for you to contact us directly with additional questions. Remember – we live here. We work here. We are invested in the long-term success of Metro Jackson, and we want to be part of the solutions to the challenges our communities are facing.
To that end, Regions has also taken new steps in the last few weeks to support our neighbors in need. You might have seen the advertisements we’re running, encouraging financial donations to food banks. This advertising time was originally purchased to promote our own products and services, but our teams quickly recognized an opportunity to change the ads to promote food banks instead. These food banks are doing incredible work meeting urgent needs for those who battle hunger and food insecurity, especially during the current crisis with some people out of work and all students out of school. We encourage all who can to consider a financial gift to help our area food banks sustain their services for people in need.
Additionally, the Regions Foundation, a nonprofit initiative of Regions Bank, is issuing grants to support organizations that are helping small businesses navigate the financial challenges caused by COVID-19. And our associates are encouraged to join us in providing financial support to United Way agencies and various community foundations. The Regions Foundation will match their donations, dollar-for-dollar, up to $500,000.
We are taking these steps because our roles as financial professionals are about more than dollars and cents. They’re about meeting the financial needs of our neighbors. They’re about using our resources to serve and support others. They’re about making progress possible once again.
Indeed, there have been many difficult days for many people over the last several weeks. Our hope is to make this time easier for all those we serve. And our commitment is that we will continue to identify more ways to assist in the days, weeks and months to come.
