Supreme Court rules against developers in Farish Street case

Developers will not be able to collect on liens on the Farish Street properties, so says the state’s high court.

Today, the Mississippi Supreme Court upheld the Hinds County Chancery Court’s ruling that Watkins Development and Farish Street Group could not collect damages from the Jackson Redevelopment Authority (JRA) for terminating its lease to develop several Farish Street parcels.

Watkins and FSG had placed liens on the properties, saying JRA wrongfully ended its lease agreement to the develop the sites.
