Sergeant Micah Taylor of the Madison Police Department has been honored as a First Responder of the Year for his exemplary work and protection of local citizens. Taylor received an engraved glass trophy and a monetary gift for the outstanding service from Keesler Federal Credit Union, which during October recognized first responders in the communities it serves. Each response agency was asked to name a recipient for the acknowledgment and 79 first responders from South Mississippi, Mobile, New Orleans and Jackson markets will be acknowledged. Honorees include fire, police and EMT personnel. This marks the sixth year of the program, which started on the coast and historically featured a dinner.
