A backyard service and reception celebrating the covenant marriage of Alyse Kathryn Churchill and Hunter Gleason Carpenter was held at the bride's family home in Plymouth, Mass., September 12 at 4 in the evening.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Arthur Churchill. She is the granddaughter of Constance Churchill and the late Harry G. Churchill and Delia Harvey and the late Donald W. Harvey, all of Plymouth, Mass.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Carol Carpenter of Columbus, and former Northsiders. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gleason “Scrap” Luke of Union, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Terry H. Carpenter of Corinth.
The ceremony was officiated by the bridegroom’s father.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore a strapless ivory Shantung silk taffeta designer gown. The bodice featured a narrow plunge adorned with custom illusion lace detailing and custom off-the-shoulder sleeves.
She carried a bouquet of cream and blush dahlias, ranunculus, and cappuccino roses.
Maid of honor was the bride’s cousin, Madelyn Ferraro of Fairfax, Va. Bridesmaids were Molly Jane Carpenter, Courtney Bono and Emily Keech Threadgill.
The bridegroom’s brother, Luke Carpenter was best man. Groomsmen included William Arthur Churchill Jr., Dr. Richard Lancaster, and Andrew Ford.
Following the ceremony, a reception was hosted by the bride’s parents in their backyard overlooking the Cape Cod Bay.
The couple is at home in Arlington, Va. where the bride is a physician assistant, having recently completed her master’s degree in physician assistant studies at MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, and the bridegroom serves as director of public policy and government affairs for the Agricultural Retailers Association.
