Anna Elizabeth Cozart and Burney Lewis Threadgill were united in marriage in a candlelight ceremony July 1 in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steward Earl Rogers of Spring Branch, Texas and Roy Todd Cozart of San Antonio. She is the granddaughter of Mary Ann Jones of New Braunfels, Texas and Ida Beth Blome of Lockhart, Texas and the late Roy T. Cozart and Gary David Blome.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Meade Threadgill of Ridgeland He is the grandson of William James Threadgill and the late Mrs. Threadgill of Columbus and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leon Eugene Lewis Jr. of Jackson.
The ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Brian Charles Davis and the Reverend William Everett Dempsey. Nuptial music was presented by Dr. William Wymond.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless faille dress with a draped bodice and back bow detail.
She carried a bouquet of peonies, hydrangeas, and roses.
After the ceremony, the couple was toasted at the bridegroom’s parents’ home with champagne and wedding cake, which was a two-tiered Italian cream cake. Following the toast, a dinner party was held in honor of the newlyweds.
The couple was orignally planning a September wedding, but was thwarted by COVID-19 restrictions. Even though they were not able to attend in person, the wedding party was with them in spirit. Maid of honor was Eva Elizabeth Cozart and bridesmaids were Megan Marie Chambers, Christen Elizabeth Cozart, Brenley Elizabeth Goertzen, Christina Elizabeth Ivy, Lindsay Patricia Tomaini, Brittany Meade Whitehurst, and Tiffany Yu Wong. They were planning to wear gowns in a midnight blue color.
The bridegroom’s father served as his best man. Groomsmen were James Morris Gathings III, Holden Theodore Harrison, Robert Michael Lacomblé, Daniel Adams Penn, Jesse Rye Pound, Aaron Christopher Reichner, Jefferson Wilkerson Pinkney Skelton Jr., James Cannada Threadgill. Ushers were Robert Welles Frey, Ross Lawson Hester, Carter Michael Osborne, Clayton Evans Rogers, Eric Andrew Vetere, and Cameron Powell Whitehurst.
Following a night at The Fairveiw Inn in Jackson, the couple honeymooned at The Grand Hotel in Fairhope. They plan to take an already-scheduled trip to Maine in September. The couple is at home in Fort Worth.
