Mr. and Mrs. Charles Glen Bush Jr. announce the engagement of their daughter, Morgan Elizabeth Bush, to James Beck Scott, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Edwin Scott of Montgomery.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. James Cunningham Morgan Jr. and the late Mr. Morgan of Greenwood and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Glen Bush of Pinola.
Miss Bush is an honor graduate of Jackson Preparatory School and attended Mississippi State University where she was active in Phi Mu sorority and Reformed University Fellowship. She was presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi in 2003.
She was graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Miss Bush is a member of the Junior League of Birmingham and USTA in Alabama.
Following several years as an ICU nurse at Saint Vincent’s Hospital, she is completing of a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering at UAB.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Columbus Scott of Alexander City, Ala. and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Beck Bigger of Beatrice, Ala.
Scott is an honor graduate of Saint James School, Montgomery, and Auburn University where he received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He was a member of Chi Epsilon Engineering Honor Society and is a registered professional engineer in Alabama. Scott is a contract analyst with Southern Company in Birmingham.
The couple will exchange vows January 2 at First Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow at the Country Club of Jackson.
