Springtime is here! The warmer weather, the fragrant flowers, the not so pretty pollen with the resulting aggravating allergies, and beautiful blooms are all signs of spring!!! I enjoy working in the yard. The truth is that I love the results of my hard work. It is very rewarding to see beautiful flowers as they begin to bloom this time of year. However, in order to achieve a pretty yard with bright, big, beautiful blooms, one has to be very intentional in tending to their flower garden.
I find that the same is true with people. In order for someone to truly thrive and reach their full potential, one must receive intentional love and care. Just as a flower has to be watered, fertilized, pruned, and placed in just the right setting, there are certain needs a person has in order to be able to live life to the fullest extent.
For someone to truly thrive, they need several things. A person needs a healthy diet, an adequate amount of exercise, communication with others, and a purpose that goes beyond themselves that gives them a reason to get out of bed each day. Many times, as an individual becomes older or suffers from a medical condition, these ingredients to live a full life need to be intentionally poured into their daily routine, or they wilt like a flower without enough water.
Just like Miracle Gro improves plants, meaningful conversation helps an individual to not only exist, but to thrive. Just like pruning a plant helps it to bloom, an individualized exercise plan can help keep someone mobile so they can bloom beautifully right where they are. JoyCARE, Inc. can see clients in a residential home or a senior living community.
The main goal of JoyCARE, Inc. is to provide individualized help for primarily senior adults to not only function in life as independently and safely as possible, but also to help them find enjoyment and purpose in the process. I have learned that with the right ingredients a person, like a plant, can really perk up right before my eyes. I can say this because I have witnessed this so many times. Often, someone just needs to have the undivided attention of someone who really cares about them. This individualized attention is the hallmark of JoyCARE, Inc.
Do you know someone who needs a little help maintaining their ability to perform day to day activities in their home? Do you know someone in a senior living community that needs some increased stimulation? Please continue reading and give JoyCARE, Inc. a call at (601) 573-6344 this spring.
The idea of JoyCARE, Inc. came to me while I was working in an assisted living facility as an Occupational Therapist. I saw there was a need in the lives of senior adults that went beyond traditional therapy. A one on one, continuous, and individualized program was needed to allow seniors the opportunity to reach and maintain their highest potential. JoyCARE, Inc. can also help someone continue with a home exercise program after being discharged from traditional therapy.

I am a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist with more than fifteen years’ experience treating the geriatric population. Upon graduation from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, I began my career at Methodist Rehabilitation Center where I gained experience treating victims of strokes and brain injuries, orthopedic surgery cases with emphasis on hip and knee replacements, amputees, and clients with generalized weakness. Following my tenure at MRC, I found my true passion caring for the geriatric population in various assisted living facilities. I have served as an Occupational Therapist and a Director of Rehabilitation Services. I am committed to providing quality, individualized care that enhances the lives of those I serve.
