In a compassionate effort to support children and youth, between the ages of 4-18, facing serious emotional and behavioral disturbances, Hope Haven Home-Based program within Catholic Charities Inc., is making a difference by delivering therapeutic treatment directly in the home and within the community. The mission of Hope Haven is threefold: to assist youth and their families during crises, to avert unnecessary hospitalizations and long-term placements by keeping youth in their communities, and to foster a strength-based family-centered partnership where every member is empowered, respected, and valued.
Hope Haven delivers a comprehensive suite of services designed to meet the complex needs of youth and families: therapeutic, wraparound, community support, and peer-to-peer services are all available through the program. The staff uses a holistic approach to support the entire family, as well as the whole community that the youth is involved with. Meetings with teachers, school staff, parents, siblings, church leaders, and anyone else in their community all take place to find the best way to serve them.
Hope Haven’s Home-Based program reflects a growing trend in mental health care: bringing therapeutic services into the home and community setting to create safer, more supportive environments for children and families. By integrating clinical treatment with wraparound and peer support, Hope Haven can reduce hospital stays, strengthen families, and build resilient communities to help the child thrive.
Catholic Charities Inc. emphasizes that this program aligns with its mission of compassionate service and holistic care, rooted in dignity for every individual and family, by being a visible sign of Christ’s love.
