When I get up and get ready for the day, I always put on my JoyCARE name badge. You have heard it said that dynamite comes in small packages. Well, my badge is quite small in size, but the conversation it often ignites is quite powerful. Whether it is at a grocery store, a bank, or a community event, people often are intrigued by this little badge and want to know what JoyCARE is all about.
Recently, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to sit down and talk with one of our clients, Mr. Jim Pierce. Mr. Pierce is a highly successful and accomplished businessman. I asked him how he would describe JoyCARE. Here is his answer. “JoyCARE is a different type of service. Your service is you and each of your team members that make up JoyCARE. You have a good company, and I have never heard a derogatory word about you or anyone on your team. People know you, and they like you. You and your team present yourselves well, and that is important. Each team member has a great personality, and they genuinely care. They are always willing to do whatever it takes to help me do my best. They are always supportive of me.”
The heart of JoyCARE is each individual team member and their unique personality, presentation, and perspective that they bring into the lives of those we have the opportunity to work with on a regular basis. The relationships formed with our clients as we work with them to meet their personal goals is one of the hallmarks of our service.

I am a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist with more than fifteen years’ experience treating the geriatric population. Upon graduation from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, I began my career at Methodist Rehabilitation Center where I gained experience treating victims of strokes and brain injuries, orthopedic surgery cases with emphasis on hip and knee replacements, amputees, and clients with generalized weakness.
Following my tenure at MRC, I found my true passion caring for the geriatric population in various assisted living facilities. I have served as an Occupational Therapist and a Director of Rehabilitation Services. I am committed to providing quality, individualized care that enhances the lives of those I serve.
