TrustCare is pleased to welcome pediatrician Jennifer Ellzey, M.D., as a new full-time addition to the TrustCare Kids clinic at the corner of Gluckstadt Road and Lexington Drive in Gluckstadt. Dr. Ellzey is board-certified in pediatrics and obesity medicine and brings more than 14 years of expertise in pediatric primary care, with a specialty in autism diagnostic evaluations for children under five and exceptional continued care for children with autism. With a passion for serving families from diverse backgrounds so that every child feels seen and supported, her leadership of the Gluckstadt clinic’s growing care team will further position TrustCare Kids as a trusted destination for outstanding primary and urgent pediatric care. Dr. Ellzey will begin taking appointments for primary care, while also providing support to children with autism and ADHD, on July 14, 2025.
A Mississippi native, Dr. Ellzey’s academic achievements are as impressive as her dedication to patient care. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. After graduating with honors from medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine in 2008, she completed her pediatrics residency at Children’s Mercy Kansas City in 2011 before working as a primary care pediatrician at Children’s Mercy for 10 years. She also spent two years as a pediatrician with the University of Utah Pediatric Clinic in Salt Lake City, where she completed a year-long certificate program in autism diagnosis and management in young children and has since evaluated hundreds of young children for autism. In 2023, Dr. Ellzey returned home as a pediatrician for the Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine in Madison. Prior to joining TrustCare, she was a pediatrician with Discovery Developmental Pediatrics in Jackson, where she provided patient care to children with developmental and behavioral concerns, with a focus on young children with autism spectrum disorder.
Dr. Ellzey is known for her warmth, expertise, and dedication to each child’s health and well-being. Her approach to medicine focuses on building strong relationships with families, and collaborating with parents and caregivers to make thoughtful, informed decisions for every stage of a child’s health. She also has a passion for mentoring the next generation of pediatricians and has played a strong role in teaching and quality improvement initiatives throughout her career.
“We are so excited to have Dr. Ellzey join our TrustCare Kids team,” said TrustCare President and CEO Warren Herring. “In addition to her wealth of knowledge and compassion, her experience supporting children with developmental, behavioral, and autism spectrum disorder needs and fluency in Spanish will further our mission to make quality care more accessible for families in our communities, including Hispanic families seeking a trusted healthcare partner.”
Herring said the company’s three clinics in Gluckstadt, Brandon, and Madison represent a unique concept in terms of patient engagement and convenience. TrustCare Kids offers high-quality, family-friendly pediatric care from sick visits to routine checkups and everything in between in a welcoming and fun environment, open late and on weekends to fit any family’s busy schedule. The clinic décor is unlike any other pediatric facility in the area featuring animal-themed rooms and interactive games, and post-visit treats for patients make it an entirely non-traditional doctor experience. With urgent care hours of operation until 8 p.m. on weekdays, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, families (including those with working parents) can rely on TrustCare Kids for easy access to the quality care their children deserve.
“I am grateful to TrustCare for this opportunity to leverage my unique skill set to provide primary pediatric care, as well as much needed services to children with autism and other behavior concerns, to a broad range of families across the region,” said Dr. Ellzey. “TrustCare’s mission to provide more accessible and inclusive care to families aligns precisely with why I chose a career in pediatric healthcare. Whether a child’s needs can be met with a quick visit or longer-term ongoing care, our team will be here to make life easier.”
