TrustCare Health proudly welcomes distinguished pediatric specialist Dr. Tamina McMillan M.D., as the newest addition to the TrustCare Kids clinic in Brandon. With more than two decades of dedicated service in healthcare, Dr. McMillan will lead the clinic’s talented team of providers, delivering primary and urgent pediatric care at 1651 West Government Cove.
Dr. McMillan is a board-certified pediatrician whose expertise spans the care of children from newborn to college age. Her dedication to prioritizing patient-first care makes her a perfect addition to the TrustCare family. Beginning February 5th, Dr. McMillan will be available for primary care appointments.
Born in South Korea and raised in Richmond, Va., Dr. McMillan graduated from Hollins University with departmental honors, majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Meharry Medical College in Nashville and completed her pediatrics residency and worked as a primary care physician in Las Vegas at the state’s first and largest federally qualified community health center. Before joining TrustCare, Dr. McMillan worked as a pediatric urgent care physician at the Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine in Jackson.
“We are delighted to have one of the areas most respected pediatricians on our TrustCare Kids team,” said TrustCare President and CEO Warren Herring. “Dr. McMillan’s healthcare expertise and proven leadership qualities will further our mission to make access to quality care more convenient for children of all ages.”
Herring said the company’s three area TrustCare Kids clinics in Brandon, Madison and Gluckstadt represent an entirely unique concept in terms of patient engagement and convenience. The clinic décor is unlike any other pediatric facility in the area featuring animal-themed rooms, interactive games, and Kirby the TrustCare Bear. With urgent care hours of operation until 8 p.m. on weekdays, and from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekends, families can rely on TrustCare Kids for easy access to the quality care their children deserve.
“I am honored to be a part of this talented team of nurses, nurse practitioners, and physicians, who share my passion for going above and beyond to provide high quality patient care,” said Dr. McMillan. “TrustCare Kids has broken the mold in terms of offering the best of both worlds – urgent and primary pediatric care – under one roof. We have an amazing opportunity to expand on this concept’s success for the benefit of all children in the region and I look forward to contributing my talents to help us get there.”
