JACKSON, MS - David Nowlan Gobbel, age 58, passed away suddenly on December 6, 2022. A native of Myrtle Beach, SC, David was born June 8, 1964, to Everette and Gwen Gobbel.
After graduating from Socastee High School, David earned an English and Communications degree from Frances Marion University. He moved to Jackson, MS where he enjoyed a successful career in sales spanning almost four decades. He joined Pitney Bowes over 25 years ago and served as Government Agency Sales Representative at the time of his death.
A member of First Baptist Church of Jackson, David was actively involved with Boy Scout Troop 8 as he encouraged and supported his son, Brooks, on his path to receiving Eagle Scout. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everette Gobbel.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sandra Schimpf Gobbel; son Brooks Nowlan Gobbel and his fiancé, Vallie Castle, all of Jackson, MS; mother, Gwen Gobbel; his sister, Betsy G. Williams (Stan); father-in-law, James W. Schimpf (Goldie); sister-in-law, Susan McCain; brothers-in-law, Walt Schimpf (Sheri) and Chuck Schimpf (Elaine); nephews and nieces, Cody McCain (Ann Claire), Travis McCain, Ana Schimpf, Leah Schimpf, Rhett Schimpf, Charley Schimpf and great nieces, Lucy and Emmi McCain.
A celebration of life service was held at 11:30am, Friday, December 9, 2022, at the chapel of the First Baptist Church of Jackson. Tom Washburn, Associate Pastor, served as the officiant for the service.
