Vivian Bardin Paris of Nashville wed in Holy Matrimony Luke Michael Martin of El Paso at the Paris Yates Chapel on the campus of the University of Mississippi December 27.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Henry Paris II of Oxford, the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Paris of Oxford, formerly of Indianola, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. R Bardin Redditt of Greenwood.
She is a graduate of the Jackson Preparatory School. While a high school junior, she served as a United States Senate Page for the January to June 2011 congressional season where she graduated from the U.S Senate Page School. The bride is a graduate of the University of Mississippi Sally Barksdale Honors College receiving her degree from the Trent Lott School of Public Policy. She was an active member of Delta Gamma fraternity and served as a representative with the Associate Student Body. She was Mississippi’s Cherry Blossom Princess in the 2013 season in Washington, D.C., and was presented in the 2012 Southern Debutante Assembly in Greenwood. Currently she works in government relations at the lobbying firm of Bivens & Associates in Nashville.
Martin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Clark Martin of El Paso, the grandson of the late Stephen Ollie Martin and Freida Jean Martin of San Antonio, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. David Spindle of Humble, Texas.
He is a 2010 graduate of Coronado High School (El Paso) where he was a member of the National Honor Society and served as president of the school’s Future Farmers of America chapter. The bridegroom is a 2014 graduate of Baylor University with a bachelor’s degree in real estate. At Baylor he was an active member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity serving as vice president of recruitment and social chairman. In 2015, he received his master’s degree from Texas A&M University in real estate finance. Martin lives in Nashville where he works in the title insurance industry.
The couple chose December 27 as their wedding date to honor and share an anniversary with his parents, who celebrated their 38th anniversary that same day. Magnolia greenery and red berries provided the inspiration for the decor for the Paris Yates Chapel and the dinner following at the Oliver.
The bride wore a family satin gown with a princess neckline. The wedding gown was originally worn by her maternal grandmother, Patricia O’Neal Redditt in 1957, and by her mother, Lisa Redditt Paris in 1980. The veil was borrowed from her sister-in-law, Brittni Wrentmore Paris from her wedding in 2013.
Rachel Paris Pritchett of Nashville, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Brittni Wrentmore Paris of Oxford and Susan Martin Annabi of Dallas, both sisters-in-law; and her cousin, Pauline Causey Hensley of Memphis.
The bridegroom’s brother, Marshall Andrew Martin, of El Paso, was best man. Groomsmen were Henry Paris II of Oxford, William Adamson Pritchett of Nashville, and Dr. Hani Michael Annabi of Dallas, all his brothers-in-law. Miss Wren Paris of Oxford served as flower girl and Jack Hensley of Memphis was the ring bearer. Nieces Rose Francesca Paris of Oxford, and Paris Olivia Pritchett of Nashville were the scripture readers.
Ora Reed and Bill Brown presented vocal solos. Jason Derrick was the organist and the Reverend Alan Cochet of Oxford and Aix, France was the officiant.
The couple are at home in Nashville with their pets, Duke and Lola. Since the week prior to their wedding was spent on a mission trip to Mexico, their wedding trip to Portugal was postponed until July.
