First Presbyterian Day School (FPDS) recently hosted its inaugural Passing of the Gavel ceremony honoring more than five decades of leadership behind the school’s home show fundraiser, Holiday Potpourri. The event was held at the home of Blair Hederman, 2008 Holiday Potpourri Chair, and brought together chairwomen spanning the last 51 years of this signature community event.
The gathering featured a curated menu of classic recipes from the Potpourri Cookbooks, a nostalgic display highlighting the evolution of past student art projects, and a moment recognizing the longtime service and dedication of former Potpourri leaders.
A highlight of the event was the check presentation representing funds raised through Holiday Potpourri 2025 which totaled $319,000, all of which directly supports the mission and ministry of First Presbyterian Day School.
“We are deeply grateful for the women whose leadership has shaped Holiday Potpourri for more than five decades,” said this year’s leadership team. “This inaugural Passing of the Gavel gave us the opportunity to honor their legacy while celebrating God’s continued faithfulness to FPDS.”
