Wealthview Capital is a locally owned independent wealth management firm providing financial planning, professional asset management, and customized advice to families, trusts, foundations, and qualified retirement plans nationwide. With its primary office in Jackson at Highland Village and an additional office in New Orleans at One Canal Place, Wealthview has been serving clients since its founding in 2009. Sam Taylor, Wealthview’s founder, brought experience as a financial advisor, portfolio manager, and institutional consultant into the firm he designed to meet the highest standards of client care.
Taylor explains, “My vision was to build the kind of firm I would want as a client—one that didn’t push products or chase performance, but instead focused entirely on the client’s needs. I wanted a firm that knew me on a first-name basis, with disciplined processes offering a reasonable probability for success at reduced costs and without unnecessary risk. That’s what Wealthview embodies today.”
The firm begins each relationship with a discovery process that leads to the creation of a personalized, internet-accessible, goals-based financial plan. It then constructs and manages broadly diversified, low-cost, tax-efficient portfolios tailored to the unique goals and objectives of each client. Its process is not unlike that of a design-build architecture firm that first collaborates with its clients to design the home of their dreams, then builds that home. “We strive to keep costs and risks as low as possible,” Taylor says. “Higher costs mean less money for clients to achieve their goals. We prioritize low-cost, best-fit securities when constructing portfolios. Additionally, we’ve methodically reduced our advisory fees as we’ve grown. Over the past 15 years, we’ve lowered our fees by nearly 50%, placing us significantly below industry averages. We help clients strike an optimal balance between risk and return objectives, a process that’s part art, part science. Our aim is to help clients avoid unnecessary risks while pursuing the returns they will need to achieve their goals.”
Wealthview Capital operates as a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), which means it is legally obligated to act as a fiduciary, always putting clients’ interests ahead of its own. The firm incorporates a fee-only model, in which its compensation comes solely from its clients in a fully transparent arrangement.
Taylor explains “Our clients pay us directly, making it easy to assess the value we bring. Also, our advisors work collaboratively in an ensemble approach to ensure clients receive seamless service and comprehensive advice. We function like the Three Musketeers— ‘all for one, and one for all.’ This collaborative approach means that if one advisor is unavailable, the rest of the team is able to step in.” In more traditional models, a client may be too dependent on one advisor. If something should happen to that advisor, the client is greatly inconvenienced and would need to start the process all over again.
The firm sells no financial products and accepts no commissions, referral fees or other compensation that could create a conflict of interest. However, it does help clients make prudent decisions in important areas such as insurance, debt management, and estate planning. Wealthview has no minimum account size. Instead, it focuses on partnering with clients who meet specific criteria, such as possessing reasonable expectations, being responsive to information requests, and seeking a genuine, collaborative relationship. “Investors must actively participate in their success,” Taylor emphasizes. “This includes saving adequately, avoiding impulsive decisions, making prudent decisions about retiring, claiming Social Security and other benefits, and committing to estate planning. We work with a range of clients in a system of mutual trust and accountability, from high-net-worth individuals to young families just starting their financial journey. Regardless of their stage in life, every client deserves respect and attention.”
Wealthview’s growth is driven by referrals from satisfied clients, a testament to the firm’s client-first philosophy. “I envisioned a better way to serve those entrusting us with their life savings and future goals,” Taylor says. “Wealthview is the realization of that vision. With a team of next-generation professionals in place, our clients can feel confident that their financial journey is in good hands, even if I’m no longer at the helm.” As such, the firm is adding professionals with experience in financial planning and asset management. Taylor is deeply committed to his work, with no immediate plans to retire. Still, he recognizes the importance of succession planning to ensure uninterrupted service. “At the end of the day, our value lies in helping clients focus on their lives, knowing they have a team of experienced, trustworthy professionals guiding them. Wealthview isn’t just about managing wealth—it’s about stewardship and collaboration, building a brighter future for our clients with as much confidence as possible.”
With its client-centered approach, commitment to low costs, reduced risk, and emphasis on collaboration and transparency, Wealthview Capital strives to set the standard for high-quality wealth management. As Taylor says, “The proof is in the pudding.”
