Freeman, VanderSteeg exchange wedding vows July 14 in Mexico
Laura Alice Freeman and Jonathan Russell VanderSteeg were wed at The Beloved Playa Mujeres Resort in Playa Mujeres, Mexico July 14. The double ring ceremony was officiated by The Rev. Freddie Albaugh.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Rodney Freeman of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Henry LeGrand Howze and the late Mr. Howze of Sledge, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Lackey Freeman of Laurel. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Wayne VanderSteeg of Memphis. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Franklin Couch and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne David VanderSteeg of Memphis.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory sleeveless gown with a narrow satin ribbon surrounding the waist, a low cut V back, embellished head to toe with hand-sewn pearls. The gown featured an illusion bodice finished with a soft column silhouette. Her bouquet was made of white and peach roses, succulent, dusty miller, and eucalyptus.
Music was presented on the beach by a master guitarist. Matron of honor was Katherine Freeman Schultz, the bride’s sister. The bridegroom’s father was best man.
Following the ceremony, the parents of the bride hosted a dinner reception at El Mar. Music was provided by a Caribbean band.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Harry’s Prime Steakhouse in Cancun. Following the dinner, the families celebrated with a bonfire and desserts on the beach.
Following a wedding trip to Cancun, the couple is at home in Jackson where the bride is a commercial accounts manager for Fisher Brown Bottrell Insurance and the bridegroom is the brand manager of Audi Jackson.
