Miss Applewhite and Frey to exchange wedding vows March 2 in Oxford service

Dr. and Mrs. Victor Harry Applewhite Jr. of Ridgeland announce the engagement of their daughter, Victoria Laine Applewhite, to Dr. Andrew Michael Frey, son of Dr. and Mrs. Edgar Shields Frey of Birmingham.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Constantine Zouboukos of Jackson, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Victor Harry Applewhite of Ellisville.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Sidney Shields Frey, and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Perry Farmer, all of Birmingham.

Miss Applewhite is a 2006 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. She was graduated magna cum laude from the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College at the University of Mississippi in 2010 with a degree in English. At Ole Miss, she was an active member of the Kappa Delta sorority. She received her law degree as a Dean’s Scholar from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2014. She is currently an artist and graphic designer.

Dr. Frey is a 2007 graduate of Vestavia Hills High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Mississippi in 2011 where he was an active member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was graduated from medical school with honors as president of Sigma Sigma Phi honors society. He is a resident in general surgery with Brookwood Baptist Health Systems in Birmingham.

 

The couple will exchange vows on March 2 at The Jefferson in Oxford with a reception following the ceremony.
