Miss Fordice and Waring to exchange wedding vows August 3 in Vicksburg

Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Lloyd Fordice of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Virginia Fordice, to Howard Charles Waring Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Charles Waring of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Governor of Mississippi, the Hon. Daniel Kirkwood Fordice Jr. and the late First Lady of Mississippi, Patricia Owens Fordice of Jackson, and the late Major General and Mrs. William Edgar Read of Morganton, NC.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Shearwood Winston Lyons and Mrs. Daniel Pierson Waring Jr. and the late Mr. Waring and the late Betty Jeanne Waring, all of Vicksburg.

Miss Fordice is a 2007 graduate of St. Aloysius High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of Mississippi where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. In 2008, Miss Fordice was presented by the Debutante Club of Mississippi. Currently she serves on the board of Keep Mississippi Beautiful, and she is a sales executive at Albriton’s Jewelry in Jackson.

Waring is a 2003 graduate of St. Aloysius High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Mississippi where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Waring serves on the advisory board of Trustmark Bank of Vicksburg, the administrative board at Crawford Street United Methodist Church in Vicksburg and the board of directors of Mississippi Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Stores Association. He is a member of the Y’s Men Club of Vicksburg. He is employed in operations at Waring Oil Company in Vicksburg.

The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m. August 3 at Crawford Street United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at the B’nai B’rith Literary Association.
