Miss Sullivan and Lawton planning June 1 wedding at Paris Yates Chapel

Dr. and Mrs. David Mark Sullivan of Madison announce the engagement of their daughter, Grace Marie Sullivan, to John Cooper Lawton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cooper Lawton, all of Oxford.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. George Duff of Pontotoc and the late Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Leroy Sullivan of Jackson. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson the late Robert May of Columbia, Ala., and Ramona Riche of Granbury, Texas, and Robert Lawton and the late June Lawton of Hartford, Ala.

Miss Sullivan was graduated from Madison Central High School in 2013. She is a 2017 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi and the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College with a bachelor’s degree in social work. At Ole Miss she was a member of Delta Gamma fraternity, director of the Green Grove game day recycling program, and a Udall Scholar. She is in her second year at University of Mississippi School of Law.

Lawton is a 2013 graduate of Lee-Scott Academy in Auburn. He is a 2017 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi and the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College with bachelor’s degrees in computer science and journalism. At Ole Miss he was president of Chi Psi fraternity, member of the Mississippians Jazz Ensemble, and Phi Kappa Phi initiate. Lawton is an information systems specialist for the City of Oxford and is pursuing a master of science in cybersecurity from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

 

The couple will exchange vows June 1 at Paris Yates Chapel in Oxford with a reception to follow at The Jefferson.
