Special Olympics Mississippi recently hosted the 2025 Gold Gala at Duling Hall. The event honored the accomplishments of more than 6,000 athletes across the state who compete with Special Olympics Mississippi.
Donna Sims and Rita Martinson, who both have served on the board for more than 25 years, were honored. The evening also included a live auction, dining and music from The Love Notez.
Special Olympics Mississippi is dedicated to providing continuous sports training and competition in Olympic-style events for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Attending the event were (from left) Danny Pearsall, Rita Martinson, Maur and Karen McKie and Debi Pearsall.
