The Fondren Renaissance Foundation’s (FRF) 26th annual Symphony at Sunset again was held on the grounds of the Cedars on Old Canton Road. The neighborhood tradition featured the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra performing under the stars.
Built in the 1840s, the Cedars was headed for a teardown when the foundation organized neighbors and supporters to successfully “Save the Cedars.” Now it has become the setting for weddings, celebrations and a gathering place.
FRF promotes the preservation and revitalization of the greater Fondren community and “empowers people, organizations, and neighborhoods to contribute to the economic growth, stability and quality of life in Fondren.”
Chairing the event were Shannon McLaughlin and Chris Hannibal.
