FBI releases statement on Chunky investigation

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has issued a statement regarding the investigation at a Chunky business today.

According to reports from residents in Chunky, federal agents arrived around 9 a.m. and executed a search at Advanced Infusion Solutions, which is headquartered in Ridgeland.

Escaped inmates from Scott County captured in Newton

The Newton Police Department has arrested three escaped inmates from Scott County, according to Newton police chief, Randy Patrick.

Patrick said the inmates were captured about 7:45 AM in downtown Newton. The inmates, all from Honduras, had reportedly escaped custody yesterday in Scott County.

Mississippi Marine laid to rest nearly 78 years after killed in WWII

U.S. Marine Cpl. Quentin McCall is finally home.

After he was killed in action during the Battle of Tarawa nearly 78 years ago, his body is now resting Monday in his home state. He is now home buried alongside his fellow veterans at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton.
