My opinion will not endear me to the chamber of commerce or downtown association. Some will say that I have generalized Jackson’s failing condition, overlooking the cared-for and flourishing parts of the city. Perhaps, but oases in the Sahara do not make it less a desert. My perspective is based on observation.
