We made it in 24 hours.

Thanks to lots of inflatable pillows, slept great on the plane.

After 24 hours on a plane, there's nothing like a bed! Bangalore is 12 and a half hours time difference from Jackson. You can try any further way then Bangalore from Jackson.

Off to India.

Traveling to India was on my bucket list. So when my Indian friend of 35 years, Sudha Madakasira, asked me to come with him, I jumped at the chance, especially since the last two weeks of January are the worst in Jackson and the best in India. Turns out, I had also been planning to one day visit my Indian website development partners: Drupal Partners in Bangalore and Clarion Technologies in nearby Chennai. As fate would have it, Sudha is from Bangalore. Topping it off, Lawrence is graduating from Texas State and jumped at the chance to go as a graduation gift. First father-son trip ever with just Lawrence and me

Carry on duffle bag on wheels is all I took. You can stuff it under your seat if need be.

Sure enough. The flight from Jackson to Atlanta ran out of overhead compartment room. So I just stuffed my carry on under the seat.

Got rupees in Atlanta. 15 percent mark up!!

Brenda Pruitt-Ali dropped by my office on the way back to her home in Chicago. She's my half second cousin. We discovered this through the miracle of genetic tracing.

Richard's arrives. One day late.

So I went to the city of Jackson website to look up the garbage pickup schedule. I clicked on the button that said garbage pickup schedule. But there was no schedule. And certainly not one by neighborhood. There you go. More city of Jackson efficiency.

No garbage picked up today on Rebel Drive.

I see garbage piled up all along the streets of Loho. Waste management was like clockwork in their garbage pickup. But Richard's Disposal it's kind of like whenever they feel like it.
