State Auditor Shad White's report on the brain drain is a must read which gives insight about the 50% of college graduates who leave Mississippi within 3 years and where those who remain decide to live within the state. 50% leave for Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Nashville, and so on but those who remain in the state are concentrating in just 10 counties of the state. 67% of the analyzed public university graduates live in Hinds, Harrison, Lee, Forrest, Rankin, Madison, DeSoto, Oktibbeha, Lafayette, and Lauderdale counties.
