State Law Library Holds Annual Holiday Open House

The State Law Library of Mississippi held its annual Holiday Open House yesterday. Each year, the Library holds the event to bring together the various departments of the state Judiciary and the public. Light snacks and trivia with prizes are provided. The State Law Library is located in the Gartin Justice Building in downtown Jackson and provides law library services to the state courts, other state agencies, attorneys, and the general public.

The World of Marty Stuart Exhibit at the Two Museums ends Dec. 31

The World of Marty Stuart Exhibit, currently on display at the Two Museums, ends December 31, 2022. At that time, the artifacts will return to Philadelphia, MS where they will await Stuart's Congress of Country Music. Once completed, the Congress of Country Music will be the Home to the Largest Private Collection of Country Music Artifacts in the World.

Mary Stuart Speaks at MDAH History is Lunch

Country music star Marty Stuart spoke at the History is Lunch lecture series held at the Two Museums today. Stuart spoke on his The World of Marty Stuart book, published by University Press of Mississippi. This was the last History is Lunch for 2022. It will pick back up in early January, and it is held each Wednesday at the Two Museums 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm.

At the First Responders of Mississippi event yesterday, Hinds County Judge Carlyn Hicks was awarded with a Difference Maker Award for her "passion and dedication to making a difference for our community and state daily." Congratulations to her and all the other honorees.
