Agent and Green wed in April 8 ceremony at First Baptist Church

A service of worship celebrating the marriage uniting Emily Alice Agent and Dr. Edward Douglas Green was held at First Baptist Church of Jackson April 8. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Dr. L. Lavon Gray.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Rudolph Agent of Madison. The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. William Robert Green of Jonesboro, Ark.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a designer gown featuring a sweetheart neckline accentuated by beaded and Alencon lace appliques, and the illusion back of sheer lace. The A-line skirt ended in a deep border of scalloped lace sweeping into a chapel train, and her finger-tip length illusion veil had an Alencon lace edge. The bride had her grandfather’s handkerchief tucked into her bouquet of white, ivory, and pink roses. Her jewelry was diamond and pearl earrings and a pearl bracelet, gifts from the bridegroom.

Matrons of honor were Melanie Hataway and Charise Wilson. Maid of honor was Laura Lundquist. Bridesmaids included Amy Boyles, cousin of the bride, Laura Leslie Stewart, and Andrea Tucker, with junior bridesmaids Loxley Boyles, Anna Grace Travis, and Aspen Travis, all cousins of the bride. Maggie Hataway and Abigail Wilson were flower girls.

Best men were Robert Green, brother of the bridegroom, and Jeff Swilley. Groomsmen were Dr. Richard Hosch, Dr. Brent Rhodes Jr., Daniel Wall, and Dr. Henry Williams. Ushers were Adam Brown, cousin of the bride, Scott Dooley, Scott Huskey, and Doug Thompson.

Music was presented by Robert Green, organist; Eva Hart, pianist; Sarah Walker, violinist; and Richard Rebich, soloist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in the fellowship hall of the church. Music was provided by Ronnie Brown.

On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents honored the couple with a rehearsal dinner at the Mississippi Craft Center. A bridesmaids’ brunch was held at River Hills Club.

Following a wedding trip in Lana’i, Hawai’i, the couple lives in Ridgeland.
