Norris, Canoy wed May 20 at Redeemer

Hayley Anna Norris and Zachary Mitchell Canoy were united in marriage May 20 at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Jackson. 

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everette Willard Norris Jr. of Madison. She is the granddaughter of Susan (Bunny) Shelton of Jackson, the late Mr. and Mrs. Everette Willard Norris Sr. of Madison, and the late Mr. Richard Louis Shelton of Olive Branch.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Paige Canoy of Canton and Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Lee Heath of Starkville. He is the grandson of Faye Rhinewalt Wooten of Carthage, the late Mr. and Mrs. Cody Mitchell Canoy of Canton, the late Johnny Obie Rhinewalt and the late Clinton Ivy Chandler, both of Carthage.

The ceremony was officiated by Robert Lee Smith. Music was presented by Derrick Cowan, pianist; John Eze Uzodinma, violinist; Matt McAlilly, guitarist; Seth Shelton, cellist; and Chandler Ann Reeves and John Christopher Adams, soloists. 

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless designer gown made of ivory silk dupioni. It featured a hand ruched bodice with sweetheart neckline and a box pleated skirt with pockets and a cathedral train, finished with a beaded designer belt and beaded cathedral veil with blusher. She wore her grandmother’s ruby ring, birthstone bracelet, and diamond cross necklace. She carried a broach bouquet made of personal broaches and embellishments from past events in her life.

Maids of honor were Chandler Ann Reeves of Dallas; Hillary Rose Ravick of Madison; and Yancey Kathleen Hand of Auburn. Bridesmaids were Alyssa Paige Canoy of Canton; Jordan Barlow Hasty of Flora; Kayla Renee Parker of Corinth; and Rachel Laurn Norris of Houston, Texas. They wore full-length black sequin gowns and carried bouquets of hydrangeas, garden roses, lisianthus, ranunculus, and freesia, all in shades of white, tied with rose gold ribbon. Honorary bridesmaids were Blakeney Elizabeth Bryant and Dianna Arnold Martin, both of Madison. The bride’s proxy was Sarah Elizabeth Pack of Knoxville.


Brother of the bridegroom, Nicholas Rhinewalt Canoy of Canton, was best man. Groomsmen were the bridegroom’s father; brothers of the bride, Hayes Jackson Norris and Hunter Shelton Norris, both of Madison; Colebert Talmadge Irby III of Canton; and cousin of the bridegroom, Gregory Trenton Gordy of Canton. Ushers were Coleman Reid Annison of Madison; James Bishop Barlow of Flora; Michael Anthony Barranco of Jackson; and Bradford Kelly Smith of Madison.

Amelia (Millie) Moyer Smith of Madison was the flower girl. Her dress featured a gold sequined bodice with a black tulle skirt. Moses Henry Kidane Smith of Madison was the ring bearer. Program attendants were Mary Robinson Coco and Meagan McKinley Gautier.

The couple left the ceremony in a shower of confetti before being driven off in a silver cloud Rolls Royce.

Following the ceremony, the parents of the bride hosted a reception at Old Capitol Inn. Az Izz of Atlanta provided the music.

On the eve of the wedding, a bridal brunch was held at the home of Jené Barranco.

The bridegroom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner on the eve of the wedding at River Hills Club.

Following a wedding trip to Ochos Rios, Jamaica, the couple is at home in Madison.



Madison-Ridgeland Academy had a ribbon cutting event to celebrate the opening of the new middle school building and dining commons.
