In her short NSS column, Camille Wright says many times that Donald Trump lied to the American people. In fact, she uses the word lies/liar 10 times, and the associated terms misinformation/deception/ deceit another seven times. However, she gives only one example, and that has a challenged basis.
Her sole example is the January 6, 2020 raid on the United States capitol, and Trump's challenge to the veracity of that election. Certainly, there were many bad things that happened that day, but Trump was not the cause. He told his crowd to "go peacefully" to the capitol. Later Nancy Pelosi the democratic house leader was in charge of putting together an investigating committee. She wanted the committee to appear bipartisan. But she rejected the two individuals proposed by the republicans, and instead installed two 'pseudo-republicans.' In fact, one of them--Liz Chaney-- has recently endorsed Kamala Harris for president. So much for bipartisanship and an unbiased investigation!
Ms. Wright says that Trump continued "to peddle a lie about the 2020 election being stolen." In 2016 Hillary Clinton challenged her own loss. Hillary also bought the Steele dosier claiming that Trump had Russian help in his election bid. After over a year's thorough investigation special counsel Robert Mueller concluded that the claims were false. What about the Biden--Harris administration telling us at least twice every month for the past 3 1/2 years that the southern border is closed. If it's closed, why do we have sanctuary cities? Where do the migrant gangs occupying apartment buildings in Aurora, Colorado come from? If Ms. Wright had watched Fox News ("heaven forbit" I'm sure she says!) she would have seen thousands of illegals breaking our immigration laws by crossing the Rio Grande River. Now illegals are entering our northern border.
What about the Hunter Biden laptop? It was discovered just before the last presidential election. But a dozen or so prominent democrats signed a document saying it was Russian disinformation. Now we know they lied. And what about Harris flip-flopping on issues like fracking and defund the police? Has she had an election year conversion, or is she lying?
