William Curtis “Bill” Bailey, age 83, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family.
A man who loved God deeply, he lived his life as a quiet but powerful Christian example—steadfast in belief, generous in spirit, and guided by grace. His faith was not only something he spoke about, but something he lived every day through kindness, integrity, humility, and service to others. He modeled what it meant to walk with God, leaving an enduring impression on all who knew him. His presence was a source of strength, wisdom, and comfort. His laughter and gentle guidance will be deeply missed.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest joy was his family. He loved them fiercely and faithfully. Nothing delighted him more than time spent with his adoring grandchildren, whom he cherished and prayed over endlessly.
Bill was born and raised in Jackson to Jeannette and H.C. Bailey Sr. A graduate of Murrah High School, he continued his education at the University of Mississippi and Belhaven College. Bill married his high school sweetheart, Carol Aldridge (“Tot”), in 1963 and treasured 62 years of wedded bliss. They are beyond proud of their four beautiful daughters, whom he fondly referred to as “My Girls.”
After completing his education, Bill began his career in real estate in 1962, joining his father at H.C. Bailey Company. He had a great love for Tennessee walking horses, where his childhood hobby grew into a lifelong passion and business. He traveled throughout the Southeast showing horses and earning many trophies. Bill also enjoyed playing golf and tennis in his spare time.
He is survived by his wife, Tot; his children Catherine Bailey DuBois (Andre) of Yazoo City; Carol Bailey Adkins (Brad) of Jackson, Tenn.; Jennie Bailey Baker (Will) of Hattiesburg; and Stacie Bailey of Flowood; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his sister Cathie Bailey of Madison; his brother Buster Bailey of Madison; and many nieces and nephews who will carry forward his values, his stories, and his unwavering faith.
While our hearts mourn his passing, we rejoice in the assurance that he is now at peace, reunited with his Savior, and hearing the words he lived for: “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
The family would like to thank Dr. Bryan Barksdale and his nurse, Jo, for their medical care and unwavering support. They would also like to thank Baptist Hospice, especially Heather and Odnetta.
A celebration of his life and faith will be held on February 7 at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson. Visitation: 10-11:30 a.m., with the service immediately following.
Donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church Jackson, Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS), UMMC Heart Center, or the charity of your choice.
