William Hudson Glover Jr. passed from this life into the next on Friday, October 10, 2025, two days after his 75th birthday. He was ready to meet his Savior and Lord and to be reunited with his parents, Sibyl Williams Glover and William Hudson Glover Sr. as well as his son, William Daniel Glover.
Bill or “Hudson” as his high school friends called him was born on October 8, 1950. He lived in Pell City, Ala. for the first 13 years of his life moving into the Jackson area when his parents relocated. He was a standout athlete at Callaway High School making the first touchdown there at Callaway his sophomore year.
Following in his father’s footsteps, he accepted a scholarship to play football at Ole Miss. He graduated from Ole Miss law school and was a partner at Wells, Wells, Marble and Hurst. Later he was an assistant professor at Belhaven University and served as the college attorney. During the latter part of his career, he was a lawyer for US Legal Forms. Bill also served as a colonel in the state guard. Bill wrote several books, one of which has been used by colleges in their sports law program.
Bill’s love for his family was important to him. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Marsha Brooks Glover; one son, James Peter Glover (Tiffany); two granddaughters, Sybil Grace Glover and Merrian Glover; his brother, Dr. Jeffrey Glover (Pam); brother-in-law, Barry Brooks (Pam); sister-in-law, Lynn Head (Stan); nephews, Henry Glover, Dr. Porter Glover (Lindsay), Matt Glover (Catherine), Winston Brooks (Jena), Jackson Brooks (Grace), David Neyman (Lilli), and Paul Neyman.
The single most important thing to Bill was his relationship with his Savior. Bill served as an elder at Riverwood Bible Church and was most recently a member of Flowood Baptist Church. He looked forward to going to church and served his Lord in various ways.
