Life can be many things. We have all heard these sayings about life. Life is good. Life is a highway. Life is not fair. Life is short. Life is but a dream. We can probably relate to many or all of these statements at one time or another. There is one statement that I believe is very true about life, and that is life is a battle.
In the morning, many times we struggle to get out of bed and turn on the coffee pot. We often battle traffic to get to work on time. We struggle to pay all our bills. We fight against cold and flu season. We struggle to eat a healthy diet and get enough exercise. We wrestle with spiritual wickedness and selfishness. We compete to get into the best academic programs and then battle to complete the program and graduate. Then, we struggle to find the best job. The list goes on and on. So often we lose battles because we try to fight these battles alone.
I am thankful that God’s word teaches us in Deuteronomy 20:4, “For the Lord your God is the One who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies and give you victory.” We can praise God in the midst of the battle because He will be with us and see us through.
For some, battles may be health issues and the desire to maintain independence. Do you know anyone struggling to stay in their home? Maybe they need more help with their mobility. JoyCARE can help! Do you know someone having problems performing basic daily tasks like dressing and grooming? JoyCARE can help! Do you know someone who may be battling depression and loneliness? Maybe they need companionship and something to look forward to. JoyCARE can help! Do you know someone wrestling with cognitive decline? Maybe they need to be engaged in activities that focus on problem solving, memory, and attention. JoyCARE can help!
I have learned many things over the years. One thing that I have seen firsthand since starting JoyCARE is the power of the human touch, human voice, and human spirit. This is something that can never be replaced, duplicated, or imitated. The power of human connection is also something that is often underestimated. I am thankful that God has allowed me to start a business that is founded upon the power of a personal relationship with our clients.
Life is a battle. This is true. Life is also good. It is good because God is with us, and we do not have to go through it alone. We have God and we have others to help us through our journey. If you, or someone you know could use some help, please read below to learn more about what JoyCARE can do to help you have JOY and the best quality of life in this journey!

I am a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist with more than fifteen years’ experience treating the geriatric population. Upon graduation from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, I began my career at Methodist Rehabilitation Center where I gained experience treating victims of strokes and brain injuries, orthopedic surgery cases with emphasis on hip and knee replacements, amputees, and clients with generalized weakness. Following my tenure at MRC, I found my true passion caring for the geriatric population in various assisted living facilities. I have served as an Occupational Therapist and a Director of Rehabilitation Services. I am committed to providing quality, individualized care that enhances the lives of those I serve.
