In early 2008, a group of Mississippi spine specialists formed NewSouth NeuroSpine, with the goal of improving the overall quality of spine care in the region as new procedures and technologies became available. These physicians - each at the top of their specialty - had for years been referring patients to one another. They determined the process was too fragmented and the overall quality of care for patients could improve with a more seamless approach. They quickly took action to merge their talents for the sake of delivering a more effective and efficient healthcare experience to patients. As a result, NewSouth NeuroSpine was formed and today serves as Mississippi's most comprehensive spine care provider.
The practice consists of twelve physicians covering four specialties: neurosurgery, orthopaedic spine surgery, spinal intervention, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. The NewSouth team also includes more than 100 highly trained and experienced nurses and healthcare professionals. NewSouth's office facility is located in the heart of Flowood's Medical Campus District. No other practice in the region is as uniquely qualified to offer such comprehensive treatment of ailments and injuries to the spinal and nervous systems, all at one location for total patient convenience and comfort. The success of the practice is due to its ability to deliver superior specialized medical care. They have been able to assemble the best and brightest physicians in their fields, some homegrown and others from around the country, who chose to make Mississippi their home and raise their families here.

Perhaps of greatest significance however is NewSouth NeuroSpine's universal commitment is to embrace its guiding principle of treating each patient as though they were a member of their own family, and communicating promptly with their referring physicians throughout the treatment process. NS2 Physicians make every effort to identify and provide the treatment that best meets the needs of each individual patient, to that end, they hold a weekly surgical conference during which the seven surgeons gather to review complex cases and offer their opinions. As a result, patients of NewSouth NeuroSpine may benefit from the experience of all seven surgeons without visiting each individually. Cases are reviewed by the group to develop a treatment plan that addresses every aspect of a patient's condition - physical, emotional, and personal. If it is determined that surgical treatment is not the best solution, NS2 has the facilities necessary to offer a full range of non-surgical treatment options - including spinal intervention, physical medicine and rehabilitation, physical therapy and pain psychological services.
