Hundreds of Northsiders could be in the dark until at least noon on June 9, thanks to power outages caused by the tropical storm.
As of 1:30, 1,263 people in Jackson were without power, including hundreds of people on the Northside.
The outages have been caused by Tropical Storm Cristobal, which has now weakened to a tropical depression.
In all, approximately 300 customers are without power in the 39211 ZIP code, according to Entergy’s website. Meanwhile more than 250 customers are without power in the Belhaven area. An additional 700 customers are without power in the 39206 area.
“We estimate that all customers who can safely receive power should be restored by noon tomorrow,” said Entergy Mississippi spokeswoman Mara Hartmann. “However, that estimated time could change as we complete damage assessments.”
Hartmann said the storm was still coming through the area, meaning more outages could be reported.
