Response to Two Great Columns
As usual, I found myself laughing and crying through Lottie Boggan൙s column of December 1 titled ൜No Guarantees൝. Thank you, Mrs. Boggan, for sharing so deeply of your family experiences, both happy and heartbreakingly sad. God bless you.
I also enjoyed and appreciated Peter Gilderson൙s column of the same date titled ൜Northsiders Part of a Modern Russian Miracle൝. This paragraph stood out to me:
൜I asked Stas (who spoke English fairly well, Sergei did not) how Christians were treated in Russia. He replied that there were two religious categories: The Orthodox Church and the Protestant denominations. The Orthodox Church was quasi political. They supported Putin. But the Protestants were persecuted. Their grandfather had been murdered.൝!!!
Yes, truly Stas and Sergei᧙s escape was a miracle, no doubt orchestrated by God and carried out at every point by people who truly cared. God bless all who had a part.
