Greenwood weekend! Will miss Henry Flaut.
Greenwood lost many great men this week: Jack Johnson, Henry Flautt and Billy Walker among others. Time marches on. I have so many great memories of Henry Flautt, who I dubbed the "duck whisperer" in a column many years ago. Duck hunting in the Scatters with Henry and my boys is one of my most precious memories. The night before the funeral, I had dinner at Fan and Johnny's in downtown Greenwood, just a few blocks from the Alluvian where we stayed. Don and Romney Brock, McLeod and Allison Meek and Suresh and Gauri Chawla. What great friends! What great memories! What a fun night! Alluvian, now 20 years old, still a luxury hotel.
