Happy birthday Kemal!
Happy birthday to my bruda from anuda muda, Kemal Sanlicetinsavas (often known as Charles Sanli of Ergon fame.) I shudder to think what my life would have been like without Kemal. King David had Jonathan, I have Kemal (no rainbows intended!!!) Golfing bud, Thai and Indian food gorging bud, tennis bud, Irish whiskey drinking bud, spiritual philosophy bud, pilot bud, on and on. My favorite story about Kemal is when Ginny and I were married and had a little kids. Ginny was really into cooking and made amazing meals every night. Kemal would just happen to show up at our house right at dinner time. One day we were all praying and we asked our four year old son John to say a prayer. He prayed for Ginny Emmerich, Wyatt Emmerich, Lawrence Emmerich, Ruth Emmerich and Kemal Emmerich. Kemal hung out with us so much, John just thought he was a member of the Emmerich family.
