Nan Newman Merrell

Funeral services were held October 30 at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland for Nan Newman Merrell. Interment followed at Parkway Memorial Cemetery.

Nan Newman Merrell of Ridgeland, 55,  passed away in her home October 27.

Mildred S. Caccamise

A celebration of life for Mildred S. Caccamise will be held at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, Saturday, November 10.  Visitation will be held at 9 a.m., prior to a graveside service at 10 a.m.

Walter Robert Jones Jr.

Walter Robert Jones Jr., M.D., passed into the arms of his Savior October 19.  Walter was born in Greenwood July 21, 1941, to Walter R. Jones and Dorothy Riddell Jones.   He was raised in Inverness,  where he began his lifelong love affair with the Delta land and its people. 

Benton Edmund Cain

Memorial services for Benton Edmund Cain of Jackson will be held in the chapel at First Baptist Church in Jackson  October 20 at 1 p.m.preceded by visitation at noon.  Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Willie Lee S. Kroeze

Graveside services were held October 4 at Lakewood Memorial Park for Willie Lee S. Kroeze. Dr. Josh Cole, pastor, Covenant Presbyterian Church, officiated.

Kroeze, 87, died October 1 at Baptist Hospital.

Charles Hulon Windham Jr.

Charles Hulon (Charley) Windham Jr., 87, died peacefully October 7.  Charley was a native of Mize, and the son of C. Hulon Windham Sr. and Ruby M. Windham. He attended Millsaps College and the University of Mississippi and earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Southern Mississippi.

James A. Brown Jr.

James A. (Jim) Brown Jr. died at his home in Arlington, Va. August 1,  after a brief illness. Mr. Brown was born in Jackson August 25, 1940.

He was 77 at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. (Army) Brown and Iris Williamson Brown.



We are fortunate to attend a small church with a tight-knit congregation. Our children’s committee hosts a baby shower for each expectant family in our church and invites the entire congregation.
