Walter J. “Duke” Olson III, who approached life and business with wisdom and humor, died Tuesday, November, 5, 2019, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital. He was 77.
David Otho Johnson, age 67 and formerly of Jackson, died on October 20, in Golden, Colorado, of pancreatic cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otho S. Johnson, Jr. and Dorothy Day Johnson, infant sister Dorothy Day Johnson, and uncles, Bill Day and Dr. Kirby Day.
George Worley Newton was born in Monroe, LA, and spent his formative years in Shreveport, graduating from Byrd High School where he was both active in sports and a cheerleader. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University and a member of Zeta Zeta chapter of DKE. His “brothers” there remained close and dear to him throughout the years.
Edward B. Ramirez, a retired electrical engineer, passed away at the age of 90. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Early in his career, he designed switchgear for minesweepers used by all NATO countries. He also developed switchgear for the air force. He authored 14 Navship Instruction Manuals for the Navy.
William Darrell Austin, M.D., 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2019. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church Madison on Saturday, November 16, 2019 followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Sebrell Funeral Home, Ridgeland.

Chief Master Sergeant Thomas Hardy (Ret) passed away October 30, 2019, peacefully at home in Jackson, Mississippi. After nine years of disability following a severe stroke. He is now in the hands of his God, able to walk, talk, and smile. He is survived by his wife, Carol Callaway Hardy, who lovingly cared for him.
Judith Chloe Forbes Ellison, 82, met Jesus face to face on November 3rd at her home in Ridgeland Mississippi.
