State in good shape on measles

There is a tendency, when talking about Mississippi, to focus heavily on the areas where the state doesn’t do well.

Given its low ranking in desirable categories, such as income and education, and its high ranking in undesirable ones, such as incarceration and obesity, there’s a lot to talk about when discussing our state’s failings.



Do as I say not as I do

Here’s a sentence few people expected to read: Sen. Bernie Sanders may be a socialist, but he also is among the top one percent of American wage earners.

Maybe it’s not such a surprise, since Sanders makes $133,000 a year as a senator and he recently published a book that sold quite well.
